ABSTRACT MSc Thesis A CHARACTERIZATION OF WINTGEN IDEAL SURFACES IN IE n Ertuğrul AKÇAY Uludağ University Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences Department of Mathematics Supervisor: Prof. Dr. Kadri ARSLAN In this thesis, a characterizations of surfaces in E 4 with the help of coefficients of the first and second fundamental form are given. This thesis consist of five chapters. First chapter is introduction. In the second chapter it is given some basic definitions and theorems which will be use in the other chapters. In the third chapter Euler equation of a surfaces in E3 are considered. In the fourth chapter surfaces in the 4-dimensional Euclidean space E 4 are considered. Some curvature equations of K , K N ve H are obtained. In the final chapter Chen surfaces in the 4-dimensional Euclidean space E 4 are considered. It has been proved that every Chen surfaces are Wintgen ideal surface of E 4 .
