After industry revolution, burning of fossil fuels excessively has enforced the greenhouse effect. This results in increase in global mean temperature. Depending on that, climates have been changing. The first step in dealing with climate change is the preparation of the greenhouse gases emission inventory. In this study, the amounts of greenhouse gas emissions, emitted from residential heating, thermal power plant and traffic, have been calculated in Zonguldak Region. In calculation of residential heating emissions USEPA and IPCC emission factors have been used. Emissions of 3.048105 tones/year CO2, 966.71 tones/year CH4 and 4.83 tones/year N2O have been calculated by using IPCC emission factors. For thermal power plant, CORINAIR, USEPA and IPCC emission factors have been used. By the use of IPCC emission factors, it has been found that 2.12106 tones CO2, 23.04 tones CH4 and 33.34 tones N2O have been emitted from ÇATES annually. Moreover, the amounts of emissions from total city traffic have been calculated as 1918 tones/year VOC, 3933 tones/year NOx, 5981 tones/year CO and 106 tones/year PM.
